As the Gamma Knife door opens, you will hear soft clicking sounds. According to your treatment plan, the precise amount of radiation will be allowed through the opened helmet holes. You will not feel or hear the treatment as it is being performed. After treatment is complete, the Gamma Knife bed will move back to the starting position, and your Gamma Knife doctor and nurse will return.
The head-guiding frame will be removed, and each pin site will have a dressing applied if needed. You will be taken into a comfortable room for monitoring.
